CLINF at FORMAS breakfast seminar

When: 27 September 2018 - 27 September 2018

Where: Stockholm

CLINF coordinator Tomas Thierfelder participated in panel discussion on adaptation challenges with regard to extreme weather events.

FORMAS, the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development, had invited to a discussion about extreme weather situations and about the question, whether we have the knowledge needed for good preparedness for such situations. Tomas laid out the linkages between climate change, moving vector species and increasing pressure from infections diseases, and resulting challenges for northern societies. He participated in a panel of four experts, with the other experts representing the Swedish Contingencies Agency, the Swedish Climate Policy Council and the research field of social anthropology (with focus on crisis management, at Uppsala University).

The event was broadcasted live (in Swedish).
